Terms & Conditions for Art Commissions

1. Overview
These terms outline the conditions under which commissioned artwork is created. By commissioning a piece, the client agrees to the terms below.
2. Commission Process
• The client provides the required information, references, and specifications before work begins.
• Once the concept, size, materials, and price are agreed, the commission is scheduled.
• Progress photographs may be shared during the creation process. These are for transparency, not for ongoing revision.
3. Payment
• A 50% non‑refundable deposit is required before any work begins.
• The remaining 50% balance is due upon completion and must be paid before delivery or collection.
• Payments are accepted via [your payment methods].
• All prices are in GBP unless otherwise stated.
4. Revisions
• One revision or adjustment may be made at the initial sketch or concept stage.
• Any changes requested after painting or drawing has begun may incur additional fees.
• Once the final artwork is approved, no further changes will be made.
5. Timeline & Delivery
• An estimated completion date will be provided at the start of the commission.
• Timelines may vary depending on materials, drying times, and the complexity of the work.
• Artwork can be collected or shipped. Shipping costs and insurance are the responsibility of the client.
6. Copyright & Usage
• The artist retains full copyright and all reproduction rights.
• The client receives the physical artwork (or digital file) for personal display only.
• Commercial use, reproduction, or resale requires a separate licence.
• The artwork may not be altered, edited, or claimed as the client’s own work.
7. Artist Rights
• The artist may display the artwork in portfolios, exhibitions, and online platforms.
• If confidentiality is required (for example, for a gift), this must be agreed in advance.
8. Refunds & Cancellations
• The 50% deposit is non‑refundable.
• If the client cancels after work has begun, payment for the completed portion of the artwork is still required.
• If the artist must cancel, all payments received will be refunded in full.
9. Content Restrictions
The artist reserves the right to decline commissions that include hateful, harmful, or otherwise unsuitable subject matter.
10. File & Image Storage
• Digital files and progress images may be stored for up to 12 months.
• Long‑term storage is not guaranteed.
11. Agreement
By commissioning the artist, the client confirms they have read and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
